James Viola got an early start in the meat business. Born and raised in the panhandle of Nebraska, he grew up working on his aunt’s cattle ranch. After moving to Colorado in the early 1990s, he spent 15 years developing strong relationships in the grocery retail business as he pursued his interests in creating a meat company that prioritized ethics and family. He founded Frontière Natural Meats in 2009 with his sons, Josh and Cody.
A Nebraska native but a Coloradoan at heart, Joshua Viola is the co-founder and Vice President of Frontière Natural Meats and oversees marketing and publicity. He holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees. Beyond his daily duties at Frontière, he is an award-winning fiction writer and artist. Barnes & Noble named his 2016 publication, Cyber World, one of the best science fiction anthologies that year. A former video game designer (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Denver Post bestselling author, Josh’s most recent work is his children’s book, Boomer and Friends!—a story about a young bison making his way through the Colorado landscape in search of his herd.
Cody Viola was born in the panhandle of Nebraska and is Vice President and co-founder of Frontière Natural Meats. He directs production and the Quality Assurance team. When he’s not working, you can usually find him spending time with his daughter or cruising the Rocky Mountain roads on his Harley Davidson.
Andre Becklund joined Frontière Natural Meats as Chief Financial Officer in 2016. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the College of St. Scholastica and a MBA from Colorado State University. Prior to joining Frontière Natural Meats, he spent 17 years in the commercial banking industry. Originally from Minnesota, he loves ice hockey, snowboarding, traveling and eating good food with his wife and son.
Mike Hutchinson, Manager at Frontière Natural Meats, has been with the company since 2011. He works with the Operations, Export, Transportation, IT, and Facility management. His previous experience as an Operations Manager with a technical background brings great value to the team.
Hector Orozco joined Frontière Natural Meats in 2011 as the Warehouse Manager. He has been working in the meat industry since the late 90s. Hector is a native from Mexico and, as a child, enjoyed helping his father harvest corn and apples. In 2006, he received his U.S. citizenship and became a father to his son, Hector Jr.
Ted Fisher joined Frontière Natural Meats as the Maintenance Director in 2012. He has 25 years of experience in the maintenance field with twenty of those years in the meat processing industry. He is a graduate of the Denver Automotive and Diesel College and an enthusiast of all things motorized or mechanical. In his spare time, Ted likes to build and race cars, hunt, fish, and camp.
Tony Salazar was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated with the class of 1976. Tony has worked in the meat industry for 42 years and his specialty is in Food Safety. He is the SQF (Safe Quality Food) Practitioner for Frontière Natural Meats.
Michael McKibben grew up in Missouri in a family with a long history of farming and engineering, but his passion for art and design led him to Colorado, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Game Art and Design. That, coupled with a penchant for rules and regulations, led him to become Frontière’s Marketing Lead and head of Label Compliance. In his free time, he likes to play the piano, visit local breweries, and make video games and animations through his company, Killbot Entertainment.
Aaron Lovett is an award-winning artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UCD (CU Denver). He is the lead artist at Frontière Natural Meats and is responsible for the company’s iconic art featured on product labels. His work has been featured by Dark Horse Comics and published in Spectrum 22 and 24, a best-selling, annual printed collection of the best in contemporary fantastic art worldwide. Casandra Sanchez joined the meat industry in 2012 working for a large beef supplier. There, she wore various hats until specializing in beef export documentation. She eventually joined Frontière Natural Meats with plans of building a stable foundation for her daughter and herself. After three years at Frontière, she continues to grow with the company as the newest member in the accounting department and learning more about the agricultural world.
Nicole Clonts is the Senior Accountant at Frontière Natural Meats. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Accounting from Metropolitan State University. She has worked as an accountant for a variety of industries including: manufacturing, nonprofit, healthcare, bar/restaurant, campaign finance, and product distribution. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Denver, traveling, hiking, and skiing in the mountains.
Nancy Pavon worked at Maverick Ranch in research and development before becoming the purchasing assistant in 2005. She made her way into insurance claims before joining Frontière’s sales team. With her friendly disposition and work ethic, she helps maintain new business relationships.
Thalia Soriano is the newest member of the Frontière team. She was born in Mexico and raised in Denver after receiving her U.S. citizenship. With her experience working in the food industry and label compliance, Thalia is a great asset to the company. She continues to strive and learn more about the meat industry.
Daniel George is Frontière Natural Meats’ Marketing Strategist, focusing on company outreach and online presence. Prior, Daniel worked for several years in the book industry as Marketing Coordinator at the Tattered Cover Book Store, organizing high-profile authors and cultural icons to obtain a platform to speak in his local community of Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s of English and Business. Beyond his passion for working with an ethical company, he pursues knowledge via literature, video games, and involvement in the Denver community.
